These domains are for international use. They are available to individuals or businesses in any country.
As a theoretical general rule, remembering that any of them may be used for any purpose:
.COM -- commercial, for-profit organizations.
.ORG -- miscellaneous organizations, usually non-profit.
.NET -- anything you might like to use it for -- my preferred designation.
.INFO and .WS [website] are newer top level domains in which one can still find short popular names
The only characters allowed in a domain name are letters, digits and the dash (-).
