I began my systematic research into the history of my family in March 1994. A fellow teacher at school introduced me to the sources of documents available for such a task.
We went to the National Archives - Mid Atlantic Region in Philadelphia several times to search the microfilm records on census data, Passenger Lists of ships arriving in New York and Naturalization Records.
Requests for data were sent to the City Archives of the Philadelphia Department of Records, The Pennsylvania Division of Vital Records in New Castle for birth and death certificates, the Orphans' Court in Philadelphia for marriage records, and the Immigration and Naturalization Service in New York for information regarding these files. Several County Courthouses in Pennsylvania were also queried.
Photocopies of related documents were obtained when possible.
The genealogical pages which follow contain only the schematic basic data for the mentioned relatives and are presented in individual major family units. The several incomplete listings will be updated when the information becomes available.
Internal LINKS are provided to interconnect the family members for whom I have more complete data.
All of the photos are from my personal archives, and most were taken by me. Credit is given to others who have been kind enough to share their photo / document archives.
On 16 April 2007, the results of the testing of my DNA sample for the male Kardas lineage by the National Geographic Genographic Project became available -- on 8 June 2007 the Sambor maternal was ready -- the details may be found at the following link
Ted Bojanowski had the test for the male Bojanowski line done in 2006 and his results are a carbon copy of my Kardas data
