This story was squeeked to me right from the mouth of none other than BATTY himself :
"Sometime in October of the year 1621 I saw Sonny in Patuxet, the old Indian name for Plymouth Colony, socializing with Capt.Miles Standish, Squanto and the entire REDSKINS team (KIWI was sitting on an egg trying to hatchet) when everybody started talking about a week-long feast to celebrate the bountiful harvest. This cute colorfull feathered critter came up to Sonny and said, "Hi, my name is GOBBLES and I heard rumors about being invited FOR dinner. Can I come to Trenton with you to escape persecution (the Pilgrims did it and made great Progress, albeit, with Bunyans) and play with your other Beanies?" So they took H.G.Wells' Time Machine and returned to the Garden State and lived happily ever after.
And, contrary to popular legend, the First Thanksgiving menu featured some new fangled worm-like things that Marco Polo brought with him from his long trip to China and the Orient, served with a fabulous Polish mushroom sauce made by Bertha Stewart's mother. Chef Pavorotti called this new dish "SPHAGETTI", after the sphagetti westerns he liked to watch on The Future Channel. They also had pots of steaming MAIZ, SQUISHES (squashed squash-- no relation to Sashquatch, who also attended the gathering), Collard Greens fried with bacon in cast iron skillets, and last but not least mountains of Buffalo Wings, an old Indian favorite. If you have never seen those Buffalos fly, you have really missed a spectacular sight! Even more thrilling than the flocks of passenger pigeons that used to obscure the skies for hours at a time as they passed overhead!"
On a trip through the enchanted forest one snowy winter day she came upon this old duplex log cabin deep inside a huge damp cave inhabited by previously undiscovered colonies of Battys and Spinners, recently added to the Endangered Species List. They literally covered the gigantic stalactites which hung, seemingly precariously from the cavern ceiling.
The cabin was lit up with the most fantastic display of constantly changing patterns of twinkle lights, and really kewl monumental animated holiday figures, all powered by the crystal that the Atlantans used as their power source, extracting energy from the atmosphere.
Snowball was standing with Frosty and the rest of his snow family on the great front patio made of marble imported from the ancient quarries on the Ionian Island of Naxos, source of the rock used by many of the classical Greek sculptors.
Flocks of Gobbles, gleefully romped among the stalagmites which seemed to be reaching up to the speleothems which hung like swords of Damocles from the ceiling above.
There were many spacious rooms inside the cabin, each carpeted virtually wall-to-wall with palace sized oriental carpets. The rugs still had tags attached on the corners, indicating the auction houses in New York where they were purchased for pennies on the dollar.
In the master bedroom, complete with adjoining jacuzzi, sauna and workout area, she found twenty-five massive rustic solid golden oak, Renaissance style beds covered with thick warm Old Mother Goose down comforters. Each bed had a name carved on it with a laser-generated router (they got it through one of those mail order catalogs), in Old Gothic script:
Just at the moment she walked into the den, Santa Teddy tumbled noisely down the ornate walk-in hearth carved of polished rose granite. Beside it was one of those museum-type display labels stating :
"Ho,Ho,Ho", he said. "I have not seen you in a long time, Goldi. Waz up? Luv your Versace gown!" <stroking his beard>"Didn't I bring you that about 8 years ago? Haven't I seen those strands of pearls somewhere in an auction catalog? And your red beaded slippers-- don't click them together right now".
"Have you seen the bears?", he asked.
Nearby, next to the bears' UMAX S910 (a powerMAC, of course-- even they know how user-bear friendly Apple products are!) computer she discovered a paw written note on gilt-tipped richly illuminated (forest scenes) parchment that said :

"OK, I shall send this to Sonny on the NET", Goldi replied, "maybe he will have luck in finding them a new home".
