BREAKING NEWS !

On 24 August 1999 I (and my cats and koi and nieces and nephews-- used the same address for them all!!) received my FIRST BBOC NEWSLETTER in the mail (5 x 7.12")!! It had been promised to members since the start of the Club, over a year ago.

The FIRST BBOC Newsletter

 

It is a three-panal foldout telling of the new Spring 1999 BEANIES, the Platinum Kit, the summer "trio" and order information on the new Clubby Buddies and how to order them online. Basically the same information is given in the BBOC section of the Ty site.

The PLATINUM BBOC KIT is now in the stores! It includes the Clubby II (no more sending in for it!), some special collector cards, a Collector's Coin, your new Platinum Membership Card, checklist, Newsletter-- and all in a neat vinyl carrying case!

 

The first new Clubby IIs only had "Clubby" on their tags. Apparently, the later versions carry Clubby II tags.

The FIRST "GOLD" EDITION of the BBOC has been retired!! They are available while supplies last!! You may still order your Clubby until 15 February 1999.

 

YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO SEND IN YOUR REQUEST FOR THE MEMBERSHIP CERTIFICATE TO GET YOUR CLUBBY ORDER FORM!! Just buy the kit then print out the Clubby order form at ORDER FORM to order it directly-- YOU MUST HAVE YOUR NEW MEMBERSHIP NUMBER, meaning that you have to buy the BBOC kit.

CLUBBY DAYS are being held across the United States to get rid of all the Clubbys in the warehouses. You may get up to 10 Clubbys, with the purchase of the BBOC kit and paying for Clubby as well. Apparently they already ran out of the nice Beanie posters and the stickers, and the MUCH SMALLER kits also do not have the Beanie Meeting in Session door knob hanger. The same old Newsletter is included which mentions the stickers and the poster to put them on!! Instead of the poster, apparently they give you the 1999 Beanie Desk calander-- which they must be trying to get rid of also!!

The "First Edition" Beanie Babies Official Club Membership Kits are available at most official Beanie adoption centers in the United States and NOW AVAILABLE to our neighbors in Canada-- the kits arrived in Ontario on Thursday, 3 December 1998-- and it already includes the Clubby order form!! Some of the included sheets/forms are two-sided, with English on one side and French on the back (some French-speaking viewers might have presented that language order in reverse!!). It costs 14.99 Cdn$$ + 7% GST (General Sales Tax) + another 7% PST (Provincial Sales Tax) in Manitoba. Ontario has an 8% PST.

 

The "normal" price in the United States is about $10 + whatever the State's sales tax happens to be. The Kit is kewl, and contains :

2. 136 neat Beanie Stickers of ALL the Beanies up to

January 1998

3. the poster sized Official Beanie Checklist with all

their birthdays and issue dates

All (except the poster) is contained in a handy folding file case with velcro closure and carrying handle! It is VERY creative!

 

Here are pics of what you will eventually get when you send in your membership application (sent in application about 8 weeks ago -- received by me on Saturday, 30 May 1998 in a 6 x 9" white envelope with the Ty logo and a Lubbock, TX address on the top left, sporting a largish "Your Official Club Member Certificate is Enclosed!" in red just above the transparent address window) :

OFFICIAL BBOC CERTIFICATE

It measures 5 1/4 x 8 3/8" and comes with a cute background "mat" of 8 1/2 x 11" (I did not include it in the above pic due to its size) having a whole herd of 22 colorful BEANIES around the border. When framed it really would look great and is well worth the wait. I sent in my application form about 2 months ago.

Note that you can also order a special display case for your Beanies, and as many as you might like to have! I personally find them (PLUS the added $3 postage EACH) a tad overvalued.

An ISSUE 3 has also been reported, and it also has the large red BEANIES on the back of the hang tag.
